There are long term roadworks ongoing in and around the city, but there are also shorter term ones planned. Here is your definitive list of all the ongoing and upcoming roadworks in the area, as announced by Hull City Council.

A63 - St James Street to Market Place: Major A63 improvement scheme – full infrastructure change. Lane and road closures until completion of scheme, expected Spring 2026.

Anlaby Road: Gas works. Bus lane closure from Hull Royal to the junction of Park Street/Icehouse Road. Until May 30.

Beverley Road: Gas works. Lane closure in place from number 53 to the junction of Margaret Street. Until July 11.

Boulevard: Carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing from Hessle Road to Witty Street. Road closure in place. Until May 4.

Brighton Street: Carriageway resurfacing at the Brighton Street, Witty Street, and Freightliner Road roundabout. Road closure in place. May 2 to 7.

Danube Road: Installing drainage connections for new Living With Water aquagreen. Also sewer works and the creation of a speed hump. Road closure in place. Until June 13.

Ennerdale: Install new cable at the rear of 11-13 Riverview Gardens. Multi-way signals in place. May 6 to 19.

Ferensway: Repair sewers near 119 Ferensway. Lane closure in place. April 27 to 28.

Guildhall Road: Public realm works, including paving, surfacing, drainage, retaining walls and ducting within Queens Gardens and along Guildhall Road, Wilberforce Drive and Queens Dock Avenue. Lane closure on Guildhall Road. Until October 31, 2025.

Humber Dock Street: Public realm works, road closure in place. Works are to take place on the public right of way along Humber Dock Street between junctions with Blanket Row and Humber Street. Until October 21.

Icehouse Road: Gas works at the junction of Anlaby Road. Road closure in place. April 28 to May 28.

Ilford Road: Constructing new manholes and connecting sewer pipework to allow for the connection of SUDS aqua greens, built off the highway back into the sewer system. Road closure between Worcester Road and Bristol Road. Until May 2.

James Reckitt Avenue: Telecoms works. Two-way signals in place from 272 James Reckitt Avenue to the junction of Summergangs Road. Until April 29.

Margaret Street: Road closure due to works on Beverley Road. Until May 6.

Micro-surfacing programme: Various road closures across the city for the annual micro-surfacing programme. May 6 to June 13.

Middlesex Road: Carriageway and footway refurbishments. Road closure in place. March 24 to August 31

New Bridge Road: Telecoms works. Two-way signals in place. Until April 29.

Park Street: Gas works outside National Tyres and Autocare. Road closure in place. April 28 to May 28.

Pennine Way: Telecoms work near 11 Kettlewell Close. Two-way signals in place. April 28 to May 9.

Princes Avenue: Connection only due to works on Queens Road. Two-way signals in place. Until May 16.

Queens Dock Avenue: Public realm works, Lane closure in place. Until October 31.

Queens Road: Essential gas works and carriageway resurfacing. Road closure at the junction of Queens Road and Princes Avenue. Until May 16.

Spring Bank West: Uplift the Walton Street level crossing for re railing. Hours of work 00:01 – 07:00. May 18.

Spring Bank West: Walton Street level crossing uplift for rail works. Hours of works 00.01 – 07.00. June 1.

St Georges Road: Level crossing test. Multi-way signals in place from one minute past midnight to 5am. May 3.

Wellington Lane: Road closure due to works on Beverley Road. Until May 2.
