Jet2 flight forced to divert mid-air after 'disruptive' passengers kicked off
The Jet2 flight was on its way from Alicante to Manchester on Friday night when it was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Barcelona to remove a number of passengers
A Jet2 flight en route from Alicante to Manchester was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in Barcelona due to unruly passengers, resulting in a three-hour delay.
The incident unfolded on Friday night when the disruptive individuals were removed from the aircraft.
The flight resumed its course to Manchester Airport after ejecting the troublesome passengers but arrived three hours late.
A spokesperson for Jet2 commented: "Flight LS881 diverted to Barcelona so that police could offload some disruptive passengers. As a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour."
This disruption comes on the heels of another Jet2 plane making an unplanned landing. The emergency situation arose when a passenger sadly died mid-flight.
Departing from Tenerife and bound for the UK on Friday evening, the crew had to declare an emergency due to a male passenger's critical health crisis.
