Liverpool are reportedly in 'advanced negotations' with Jeremie Frimpong. The ECHO reported on Saturday that the Bayer Leverkusen star is a leading candidate should the Reds look to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.
The ECHO understands that Frimpong would be a player of interest to Liverpool this summer, particularly given his release clause of around £30m that can be triggered. And the Netherlands international has already expressed his feelings on the Anfield club.
"Liverpool is a great club with history,” he told Ziggo Sport in February 2024. “That would be great. Who knows what the future will bring."
And, according to Sky Sports Germany, 'advanced talks' between the Reds and the former Manchester City man are underway.
That development comes on the day that Frimpong's agent, Jeffrey Lemmert, posted a cryptic message on his Instagram story.

The message read: "We working," followed by hour glass and rock climbing emojis.

Frimpong has rapidly established himself as a key starter in former Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen side over the past two-and-a-half years. Overall, he has made 190 appearances in Germany, winning the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal cup double by going unbeaten domestically in 2023/24.

On Sunday Die Werkself played their final home match of the season, during which Frimpong scored and celebrated with his manager, who announced he will be leaving at the end of the season.
"Lived it. Loved it. Farewell, Coach [love heart emoji], he wrote in tribute on his own Instagram page.
