ITV This Morning fans all say the same thing as they fume over new presenter

This Morning viewers were left divided as Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard unveiled a new presenter to their line-up during Tuesday's show

This Morning viewers were left gobsmacked on Tuesday (May 13) when the ITV programme introduced an unexpected new presenter.

Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, the usual faces of the show, were navigating through a variety of hot topics in another action-packed episode.

The surprise came later in the broadcast when Cat and Ben welcomed Julia, an AI-generated new presenter, to their team.

Julia made her appearance via video-link, while cyber-security expert Jake Moore joined them in the studio, and she was armed with a wealth of information, engaging smoothly with the hosts. Introducing the AI presenter, Cat remarked: "You can see she's not a real person, she's completely generated by artificial intelligence."

However, the reaction from viewers at home was mixed as they expressed their opinions on social media platform X. One viewer bluntly commented: "Creepy AI on #ThisMorning."

Another shared a similar view, posting: "Creepy!!!!" Another viewer noted: "AI Julia talks a lot of word salad and blinks too much .. which is a sign of telling lies."

Meanwhile, another expressed their disapproval of the AI host, stating: "Not a fan of AI #ThisMorning."

Yet, some viewers speculated that Julia might even take over from one of the regular presenters, with one suggesting: "To be fair, I prefer Julia to Cat."

One viewer made a cheeky remark regarding Friday presenter Alison Hammond, saying: "I think Alison's job might be under threat here. Julia has done a better job in five minutes than Alison has all year."

However, Julia's debut was not without hiccups, as she faced technical issues during her interview, requiring a quick reboot by the team.

Another glitch occurred before her time on air ended, prompting Ben to quip: "I think she's tired," as they said goodbye to the AI host.

Despite the buzz surrounding the debut of the AI host on This Morning, Julia is not set for a permanent hosting gig, with Cat and Ben reassuring the This Morning View team that their positions are secure.

This Morning airs Mondays-Fridays from 10am on ITV1.
