Major UK bank confirms 18 more branch closures in May - full List
Lloyds Bank is also set to close more branches next month in June
Lloyds Bank has announced that 18 more branches will close in May, following nine that have already shut their doors this month.
Lloyds has also confirmed that at least 48 branches will close across 2025 in total, with the group citing changing customer trends as the reason.
A statement on its website reads: “Most customers are now using our Mobile Banking app, Internet Banking or calling us instead. This means they are using branches less.”

According to consumer group Which?, more than 6,300 bank and building society branches have closed since January 2015, which is around 53 closures on average each month.

- New Milton – May 13
- Wetherby – May 13
- Margate – May 14
- Newland University – May 14
- Alnwick – May 15
- Prudhoe – May 15
- Sherborne – May 19
- South Elmsall – May 19
- Bridgnorth – May 20
- Ludlow – May 20
- Rayleigh – May 20
- Bristol Clifton – May 21
- Herne Bay – May 21
- Fulham – May 27
- Bolton Farnworth – May 28
- Bristol Patchway – May 28
- Cardiff Whitchurch – May 29
- Godalming – May 29
More closures are already confirmed for June as well, with the Lloyds Banking Group announcing them for multiple lenders.
Lloyds Bank branch closures in June:
- Dorchester - June 19
- Pembroke Dock - June 26
- Welwyn Garden City - June 11
Lloyds Bank isn't alone, as Halifax and Bank of Scotland are also closing branches, all part of the wider cuts at the Lloyds Banking Group.

- Felixstowe – June 2
- Fleetwood – June 25
- Gainsborough – June 2
- Horsforth – June 3
- Kingsbury – June 2
- Launceston – June 3
- Leek – June 4
- Letchworth – June 3
- Mold – June 5
- St Annes – June 12
- Welwyn Garden City – June 11
The move will leave around 756 Lloyds Banking Group branches in the UK, down from around 2,200 a decade ago.
A Lloyds spokesperson said: "Alongside our apps, customers can also use telephone banking, visit a community banker or use any Halifax, Lloyds or Bank of Scotland branch, giving access to many more branches.
"Customers can also do their everyday banking at over 11,000 branches of the Post Office or in a banking hub."
