Virtual tours around Ayresome Park and the history of the Boro are available for fans.
As part of Middlesbrough Local History Month, the Rekindle Research Group have set-up the virtual tour.
Rob Nicholls, editor of Fly Me To The Moon and keen local historian who has led walking tours of the area around Ayresome Park, said: "A housing estate now occupies the location of Ayresome Park but there are many artefacts marking significant places relating to the club’s time at that location.
"Award-winning artist Neville Gabie made sculptures recording the position of many of the ground's significant features.
"There is even a house that has a special place in the hearts of people from North Korea. By following the trail between the half-hidden objects, it is possible to re-imagine the home of the Boro for 92 years."
In the current absence of guided walking tours, fans and budding historians can take part in either:
- A virtual walk is presented on an LCD or projected screen
- A self-driven experience in Google Earth
An Ayresome Virtual Walk takes place at the Ageing Well Hub. Live Well Centre, 103 Albert Road, on Thursday 22 May at 1pm.
The big screen experience is also available in three local libraries during Middlesbrough Local History Month.
- Marton Library, Mon 19 May 1.30pm
- Grove Hill Library, Wed 21 May 10.30am
- Thorntree Library, Wed 28 May 2pm
