The National Fairground Museum Statfold in pictures

The National Fairground Museum near Tamworth opens on May 24

The National Fairground Museum is opening its doors at Statfold Country Park for the Spring Bank holiday inviting families to 'ride like they did in the olden days'.

The fully working museum in Tamworth features a vintage funfair - as you can see from this series of pictures.

There are moon rockets, dodgems, a chariot racer ride, 2p slot machines and traditional arcade games plus a new eatery called the Café Carousel.

Opening on Saturday May 24, ahead of May half term, the team at Statfold has worked with The Fairground Heritage Trust to relocate this prestigious collection of fairground rides to Tamworth.

There are eight retro rides - some of which are 70 and 80 years old - plus vintage prize stalls too.

Statfold also has steam train rides, woods to explore, soft play, a rail museum, mini golf, woodland trail and a 'Fellumpa Village' full of friendly characters.
