Bristol Rovers confirm fourth pre-season friendly as part of summer warm-weather training camp

Bristol Rovers will face League One's Stockport County in Spain as part of their pre-season warm-weather training camp

Bristol Rovers have confirmed details of their warm-weather pre-season training camp as well as their fourth pre-season friendly ahead of the 2025/26 League Two campaign, with the Gas set to take on Stockport County whilst in Spain.

Darrell Clarke's side will travel to Murcia, in southern Spain, on Sunday, July 6 to undertake a 'week of intense work' as preparations continue for what will be the 47-year-old's first campaign back in charge at BS7 since returning to the Mem as head coach.

Before the Gas travel home from the Spanish city, which is on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, they will take on Stockport County in what is currently scheduled to be their second pre-season clash of the summer. Clarke's men will face Dave Challinor's side at the Pinatar Arena Football Centre on Saturday, 12 July.

Stockport finished third in League One last term, five points off of Wrexham and the automatic promotion places before missing out on a place in Sunday's play-off final after losing to Leyton Orient on penalties.

When the two sides met in North Bristol in March, the points were shared in a 1-1 draw while it was the Hatters who claimed all three points with a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture back in August.

Rovers' announcement confirms that fans travelling to Murcia for the pre-season camp will be able to attend the meeting with Challinor's side, with tickets available on the day at the Pinatar Arena. Further updates around how fans can purchase tickets will be provided in 'due course.'

Clarke's side now have four pre-season friendlies in their diary with the trip to Spain bookended by matches against Chippenham Town and Bath City, before the Gas travel to Huish Park later in July to face Yeovil Town in the 'Match for Marcus.'
