Jurgen Klopp fires brilliant Arne Slot message ahead of Liverpool return
The latest Liverpool news as former manager Jurgen Klopp prepares to watch the Reds lift the title this weekend.
Jurgen Klopp has issued a message to Liverpool supporters as he returns to Merseyside for the club's Premier League title celebrations. Sunday will see the Reds lift the Premier League trophy after their final match of the season against Crystal Palace at Anfield.
Liverpool have been confirmed as champions since their 5-1 victory vs Tottenham Hotspur last month - and have had guards of honour in each of their last three matches. On Friday, Klopp returned to Merseyside as he attended the gala for the LFC Foundation at Liverpool Cathedral, where he was a guest speaker at the event. Klopp will also be in attendance at Anfield to watch the Reds face Palace in their last fixture of the season.
After his exit as Liverpool manager last summer, Klopp was then named as an honorary ambassador for the LFC Foundation. In a video posted on social media, Klopp issued a message to Reds supporters and head coach Arne Slot while in attendance at the gala ahead of the title celebrations this weekend.
"Hello, so now I'm back, back in Liverpool," said Klopp in the video posted on Liverpool's social media accounts.
"Back here in the wonderful cathedral. And, yeah, for the Liverpool Foundation, finally.
"LFC Foundation, finally. Took me a year to find a way back, but now I'm here.
"So, what a weekend ahead. Wow. I heard the city will be buzzing, I'm pretty sure it will.
"And I see it from a different perspective - from a very good perspective, from your perspective.
"I told you on my last day, from now on, I will be one of you.
"Yeah, okay, standing in a black suit is maybe not the best example. But at the weekend, I'll try to be in as much as you let me. I'll try to be part of it as much as you let me.
"So congratulations for last season. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic.
"I enjoyed it so much. Congratulations to the team. Congratulations to Arne - especially so - what a guy, what a coach and let's have the best weekend of our lives, so far. Because there are loads of great weekends will follow with his wonderful team and this great club.
"All the best. See you, bye."
