West Ham United endured a rough and turbulent 2024-25, slipping down to 14th place in the Premier League having achieved a ninth-placed finish in 2023-24.
The Hammers were looking forward to the campaign after appointing Julen Lopetegui to replace David Moyes in the summer, but went on to replace the Spanish manager with former Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea boss Graham Potter in January.
However, the club's situation only marginally improved under his leadership, and they picked up a mere 23 points during the 19 games he was in the hotseat.
As attention turns to Potter's first full season at the London Stadium, the Irons will be desperate to better their lowest finish for five years by recruiting from the transfer market.
To date, West Ham's only incoming has been a loan deal made permanent, though a number of players have left the club upon the expiry of their contracts.
Mohammed Kudus is also close to leaving the London Stadium, with Tottenham Hotspur in advanced discussions over a deal which is expected to be worth in the region of £55m.
West Ham will begin their preparations for the new season with a friendly against GC Zurich on July 19, and the team will then head to the United States at the end of the month for the Premier League Summer Series.
The Hammers will tackle Manchester United in the opening match of their US Tour, while they will also face Everton and Bournemouth before returning to the United Kingdom.
West Ham's final pre-season friendly of the summer comes against Lille on August 9, seven days before their 2025-26 Premier League campaign begins away to Sunderland.
The team's first home match of the new league season sees them tackle Chelsea on August 22, and the club's supporters will be hoping that more signings have been made before that match takes place.
