Gardeners' World star Adam Frost left viewers in tears following a heartwarming moment on the programme.

The expert visited Bedfords Park Walled Garden near Romford, which was created in the 1700s as a kitchen garden for the estate.

However, in more recent years, it was used by a local nursery until it was shut down in 2000. Adam explained that the garden is now run by a group of locals who have restored the garden to its former glory.

He said Lois Amos, a retired horticultural lecturer, is in charge of the garden and keeps it looking its best, but it hasn't been easy.

During one emotional moment, Lois got upset after Adam praised her and the volunteers for all their hard work.

Adam praised: "Lois, you have got an amazing group of volunteers, haven't you? They seem to have the same passion about the place that you have."

"Yes, I've infected them with it," Lois laughed before Adam joked back: "You have infected them, knowing you."

Lois continued: "We try to instill into everybody that this is a very historic setting, and that these types of places need protection and conservation, and, you know, they need using and loving."

"I couldn't put it better," Adam agreed. You've just given me goose bumps. You have honestly, it's like, I think, in a way, it's that sense of legacy, brilliant, absolutely."

Lois choked back tears as she admitted, "Thank you. I've gone all gooey. Now I've gone all emotional."

"Bless you," Adam replied as he gave Lois a big hug.
