Lee Mack has confessed he was "ignored" by Noel Gallagher after the Oasis star didn't respond to a request regarding his sitcom.
The 1% Club host chatted on Friday's The One Show about the latest series of Not Going Out alongside co-star Sally Bretton.
In one particular new episode of the show, Lee brings up Oasis as it mirrors his personal struggle to snatch up reunion tour tickets.
Lee had bigger ambitions for Noel's involvement in the series, however.
Explaining to BBC hosts Alex Jones and Clara Amfo, he mentioned: "I like everybody else was queuing for hours online, and we couldn't get them, so I thought, well I haven't got tickets but I'll write a show about them.
"And there I am, proving I can't sing. And I thought, wouldn't it be great if Noel Gallagher turned up?"
He reminisced about his previous encounter with Noel on The One Show, considering their brief interaction as the start of a friendship, reports the Mirror.
"As far as I'm concerned, meeting someone for five minutes, we're now friends," Lee said.

"So I harassed him and texted him, got his number and asked him to be on the show."
Alex and Clara eagerly asked what happened next.
Despite his efforts, Lee had to confess: "He never contacted me."
Lee light-heartedly suggested that his next target would be Billy Idol, who happened to be present on The One Show that evening.
Discussing his approach to writing humour for Not Going Out, Lee offered some insight: "I was always told you had to get one gag a page but actually that's just not enough.

"We try and make every line, we ask if that line can be funny, and if it can't be then we just do that as a set up, but we try and cram as many as we can in.
"A lot of people say, 'He's just a stand-up comedian crow-barring his jokes in,' and I'd go, 'Yep, that's what it is.'
"No problem with that whatsoever."
Not Going Out first debuted in 2006 and is making a comeback for a staggering 14th season, picking up the story seven years on.
"Lee and Lucy are moving house and viewing a property that Lucy loves when, embarrassingly, Lee needs the loo. Before he can use it, however, a second buyer turns up to take a look at the property. To dissuade him from putting in an offer, Lee pretends to be the vendor," reads the official synopsis for the season's opening episode, which airs tonight.
The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
