Derry did everything but beat Galway last time out. There was anger in their display. They’ll have to muster that again and more.
Dublin responded to their shock Leinster semi-final defeat by Meath with a big result in Galway. This game is very close to straight knockout for both sides, so expect a Dublin backlash here to their loss to Armagh.
They’ll hardly repeat the 23 misses they had against Armagh, although their two point shooting is a starting to look like an issue.
Derry look a dangerous animal. However, they continue to concede too many goals - four against Galway.
Con O’Callaghan’s fitness is key. He brings a control and poise to the attack that was lacking against Armagh. If O'Callaghan is fit, alongside Paddy Small and Cormac Costello, Derry might stuggle to find enough powerful markers to hold them.
But with the likes of Paul Cassidy, Ethan Doherty, Niall Loughlin and Shane McGuigan showing a return to form against Galway, Derry will fancy this one, particularly if Lachlan Murray is fit to play a bigger role.
