Fans of the hit streaming series, Clarkson's Farm, say the newest season is "too stressful to be enjoyable" for one reason. The Jeremy Clarkson-fronted show had its fourth season released on Amazon Prime earlier this year, and many fans were left loving the programme. But some have suggested the last few episodes of this season were far too stressful to be enjoyable.
A post to the r/ClarksonsFarm Reddit page had users discuss the tough watch that made up the new season, with one fan saying the show is more "existential crisis" than "entertaining chaos". It marks a shift from earlier episodes, and many fans are noting how the change has affected the humour of the show.
One user wrote: "I grew up on a farm. I now keep ducks. I understand mud, mess, and malfunction - I practically thrive in it. But even I found Season 4 more 'existential crisis' than 'entertaining chaos.' We visited the pub by coincidence, not as fans, not as pilgrims."
The user, despite their praise for Clarkson showing the "plight of the British farmer" says the show was instead watching him "speedrun a nervous breakdown." They added: "In the end, it didn’t feel like Diddly Squat anymore.
"It felt like Soho Farmhouse had been re-skinned with a tractor and told to pretend it was still authentic. The usual 'it’s messy but we got there' charm was replaced with 'it’s messy and everyone’s crying.' All noise, no narrative."
Fellow fans have agreed, with one adding: "This season was too much, it wasn't the fun farming show with Jezza doing stupid and smart at the same time. It was too stressful to be enjoyable, the last two episodes especially. Poor Charlie."

Another wrote: "I completely agree, one thing I liked about the first season that is was just a lot slower. Less stuff were going on so you actually had the idea you were following growth.
"Now it's just, 'Hey I know we have like 10 half-finished project, but what about something new and I throw massive amounts of money and people against it?'"
A third added: "I felt more proud watching him grow his first potato and shout 'I did a thing' than I did watching him throw piles of money at building a pub under pressure.
"One was literally growth, The other felt like a midlife crisis but instead of a sports car It was a tractor too complicated to use with a sexy badge. I genuinely worry the show’s starting to outgrow the charm that made it special in the first place."
Not everyone is disappointed at the new series though, with many fans hungry for more from Clarkson's Farm. One wrote: "I loved it and I want another season."
Another added: "All I’ve seen this season are posts & comments saying how disappointing it is, but it’s genuinely been my favourite to watch so far. Me and my Dad really enjoyed the drama with the pub, we just laugh at how everything Jeremy does ends up in a catastrophe."
A third wrote: "You make some valid points, but I still loved it... and can't wait for Season 5."
