Vitezslav Jaros is set to join Ajax on a season-long loan and reunite with former Liverpool assistant manager John Heitinga. Heitinga has identified Jaros as he looks to bolster his goalkeeping options having recently been appointed as manager of the Dutch side.

Jaros, who made his senior breakthrough with Liverpool this season, will be expected to sign a new long-term contract at Anfield before making the move. He is approaching the final 12 months of his current deal.

The 23-year-old Czechia international made his senior debut for the Reds when replacing Alisson Becker for the closing stages of the 1-0 Premier League win at Crystal Palace last October.

Jaros was then handed his first Liverpool start in the League Cup tie at Brighton later in the month, which the Reds won 3-2.

The keeper has been at the club since August 2017 and was part of the under-18s team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2019.

He has previously had four loan moves, during which he won the Irish Cup with St Patrick's Athletic and the league and cup double in Austria with Sturm Graz.

Liverpool are in the process of reconfiguring their goalkeeping options this summer behind undisputed number one Alisson Becker.

Caoimhin Kelleher has joined Brentford in an £18million deal, while Giorgi Mamardashvili is arriving from Valencia after a £30m transfer was agreed last year and Hungary under-21 international Armin Pecsi has signed from Puskas Akademia for £1.5m.
