Live music, street food and community activities will feature at a festival in Leicestershire when it returns this summer. Organisers say advance tickets are selling fast for the July event.

The festival will take place in New Lubbesthorpe, a major development in the Blaby district which will ultimately see more than 4,000 homes by 2035. At present, over 1,200 homes are already occupied, while the development will see a new GP surgery, supermarket and care home open soon.

LubbFest is organised by Lubbesthorpe Alive, a community interest company. The group uses the festival to raise funds for local support services including mental health help and food parcels.

Becky Harris, Lubbesthorpe Alive’s Community Organiser, said: “LubbFest is a really fun day out. It offers something for everyone and is a great opportunity to generate much-needed money to support our community. The countdown is on and advance tickets are selling fast. Pre-booking your ticket not only saves money but also guarantees a spot at this popular community event.”

Ms Harris said every penny raised goes into benefiting Lubbesthorpe. She added: "From supporting mental health and arranging food parcels, to putting on pub nights, book clubs and community events, people are our focus."

LubbFest takes place on Saturday, July 5, from 11am to 5pm at Old Warren Park, off Tay Road, Lubbesthorpe LE19 4BF. Advance tickets cost £6 each or £20 for a family.
