Sunday Brunch star pulls out of live TV appearance after doctor’s orders and health battle
Sunday Brunch was back on Channel 4 on Sunday morning with a host of famous faces joining Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer on the sofa - but one star was missing
Sunday Brunch experienced an unexpected twist after a booked guest had to cancel on account of medical guidance.
Channel 4's beloved programme 'Sunday Brunch' greeted viewers this Sunday (June 15) with its usual blend of culinary delights, jovial chat and tuneful interludes. The charismatic duo Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer played host to an array of celebrities.
The hosts engaged in conversation with celebrated figures such as Josh Groban, Gabriel Howell, Tom Hughes, Yinka Bokinni, and Lesley Joseph, whilst also enjoying a performance by the illustrious AJ Tracey.
Nonetheless, the artist Yungblud was conspicuously absent from the lineup, obligated to forsake his appearance in adherence to doctor's admonitions. "YUNGBLUD sadly isn't here," disclosed Tim.
He elaborated on the situation: "He was going to be on last week's show and he was ill. Then he was going to be on this week's show and he's ill again.", reports the Manchester Evening News.
Simon contributed to the topic: "He's sent us a sick note Tim. A little handwritten sick note." Subsequently, the presenter produced Yungblud's imminent album, Idols, which showcased a personal note scribed on its reverse.
Simon read aloud: "In summary, he said, 'Dear Tim and Simon, I regret to inform you that I Yungblud will not be able to appear on your show this Sunday again.
"Doctors are insisting I spend the week horizontal.'".
Simon mentioned offhandedly: "He's got tonsillitis," before resuming reading from Yungblud's message: "Enclosed is a £20 note in the hope that you will shamelessly promote my album that comes out this Friday, it's really good."
Last week saw Yungblud swapped out for pop and indie sensation Jerub, who clearly jumped in at the eleventh hour to fill his shoes.
While having a natter on the couch with the presenting pair, Jerub admitted that it was a "tight squeeze" to slot in his appearance at the studio, but he shared that upon receiving the producers' invite, he was eager to "make it work."
Sunday Brunch airs every Sunday at 10am on Channel 4.
