Various roads around Lutterworth are to be shut to traffic for the town's annual Film and Food Festival later this month. Warnings are now being issued to drivers ahead of any disruption caused.

The festival takes place on Sunday, June 22, with Leicestershire County Council's highways department warning that parts of Church Street and George Street in the town will be taken over by stalls and street entertainers for the festival.

The closures, which come into effect at 9am, will see parts of Bank Street and Church Gate closed until 9pm for the event. Parking will be temporarily banned in some areas of the town centre, as well.

Meanwhile, one-way systems will be suspended to help traffic move around the town. The one-way rules on Baker Street, Church Gate and Lancaster Close will be suspended, as well as the one-way stretch on Church Street between the junctions with Bank Street and Church Gate.

On the Visit Harborough website, the town council said of the film festival: "Lutterworth Town Council are thrilled to announce the return of this much-loved annual event! Church Street and George Street will be closed to traffic for a full day of fun in the town centre.

"Expect a packed line-up of entertainment, including street entertainers, a magician, face painting, a mobile bar, delicious food stalls plus an outdoor cinema in George Street car park."
