Emmerdale's 'most evil villain' set to 'return' and it's bad news for Belle Dingle
Emmerdale could be welcoming back a former villain in a huge twist, according to fans
Emmerdale fans reckon the soap is bringing back a former villain in a major Belle Dingle twist.
Belle has been a staple on the ITV soap since her birth on-screen in 2005. Now played by Eden Taylor-Draper, the character has become a firm favourite with fans.
She’s also been involved in several big storylines - from killing her best pal to a shock affair with the village doctor, Belle’s time in the Dales has not been short of drama.
Especially in the past twelve months as Belle was the victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her sicko husband Tom King (James Chase).
Tom made her life a living nightmare for over a year, by gaslighting and abusing her, while turning her family and loved ones against her.
Fortunately, Belle’s ordeal came to an end late last year, when Tom was found guilty of assault and controlling and coercive behaviour and he got three years custodial sentence.
And more recently, she became involved in finding the truth about Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) disappearance. Sadly, the truth eventually came out that he was murdered last year and has been at the bottom of the lake since.
But now, Belle could be set for another surprise as fans have predicted the return of a former bad guy in the Dales.
Sharing their thoughts online, viewers reckon her ex Lachlan White (Tom Atkinson) could make a return. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “I wonder what Belle’s next storyline will be now Tom is over and done with.”
Someone else penned: “They should bring Lachlan back.” A third chimed in: “ Good idea, he was vile wasn’t he.” Another also wrote: “I always thought they would get him to return." A fifth then pointed out: "If Robert Sugden can get released, pretty such Lachlan will be next
Lachlan White first appeared on the soap in 2014, and he went on to become one of Emmerdale’s most prolific serial killers.
He murdered everyone from his on-screen mother Chrissie Sugden (Louise Marwood) to his grandfather Lawrence White (John Bowe). Lachlan also dated Belle but left the soap in 2019 when he was eventually arrested for his horrific crimes.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
