The countdown is now on for Leeds United. Elland Road will host Everton in the Whites’ first game back in the Premier League on Monday, August 18.

They then make the difficult-looking trip to Arsenal, before then rounding off the first set of matches with a match against Newcastle United at Elland Road. While it doesn't look like the kindest start on paper, the Whites are going to be hoping to pick up at least three, if not, more points before September's international break.

However, transfer talk continues to dominate the agenda with it now being claimed that Roma are currently monitoring Leeds target and €35m rated Leece star Nikola Krstovic as a possible signing this summer.

The Whites are also reportedly in a battle with Bournemouth for Wilson Samake. Paris FC are also being linked with a move for the 21-year-old.

A deal for Udinese defender Jaka Bijol is close, however, after he landed for his Leeds medical on Wednesday. A price of more than £17million is expected to be finalised for the 26-year-old Slovenian.

Krstovic offer 'close'

Reports in Italy via Corriere dello Sport have claimed that Leeds have submitted an offer for Lecce's Nikola Krstovic.

The report adds that the exact bid is unknown but the Italian side want around €35m (£29.8m) but there is a feeling that it could be enough for Lecce to take notice.

It adds that Leeds are 'serious' about the striker and have 'decided to accelerate' a move.

Aston Villa set Buendia price

Aston Villa are reportedly confident in parting ways with Emi Buendia this summer but Leeds United face a problem with the price tag.

Aston Villa News have claimed that Villa sources have suggested that a bid in the region of £20m would be welcomed but Unai Emery's men may attempt to drive the fee up to £30m.

Gudmundsoon truth revealed

The idea that Leeds are in advanced stages of talks to sign Gabriel Gudmundsson is inaccurate, LeedsLive understands.

Claims that the 26-year-old had been spotted at Leeds' Thorp Arch training ground circulated across social media on Thursday, but club contacts have shut down this inaccuracy and labelled it false.

Hugo Bueno interest emerges

Leeds United are exploring a move for Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno, according to reports in Spain.

Currently with Mateo Joseph with the Spain Under-21s, Bueno spent last season on loan at Feyenoord. Marca has reported on Friday morning that Leeds have registered an interest.

Reports in the Netherlands have claimed that Feyenoord are considering a permanent move.

Southampton accept Ramsdale exit

Southampton owner Dragan Solak has accepted the club will struggle to keep Aaron Ramsdale at the club this summer following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Daily Echo has claimed that the Saints are prepared to sanction an exit for the England international. Ramsdale has been one of the goalkeeper's linked with a move to Elland Road.

Strasbourg set Diarra price

Strasbourg will demand £25million for Habib Diarra this summer, £4m more than what Leeds have reportedly offered.

TEAMtalk have claimed that the French side are confident of receiving that fee with President Marc Keller confirming the midfielder will leave if a decent offer arrives.

Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are also keen on the box-to-box midfielder.

Mateo Joseph speaks out on future

Mateo Joseph has admitted he is yet to speak to Leeds about his future this summer.

The striker has attracted interest from Real Betis and French club Strasbourg with his place in Daniel Farke's team in doubt. “The lack of clarity about my future doesn’t affect me,” Joseph told AS.

“I’m very focused on the tournament, and I’ll have to talk to Leeds, with whom I haven’t yet. Then whatever has to happen will happen, which is certainly the best thing for everyone. I’ll be ready for the opportunities they give me, wherever they may be.”

Samake 'battle' with Bournemouth

Leeds United are reportedly in a battle with Bournemouth for Wilson Samake.

That’s according to Foot Sur 7, via Sport Witness, who are reporting that that European clubs are lining up for the 21-year-old and Bournemouth and Leeds are among them.

The report also claims that Leeds have reportedly placed a €1m offer on the table, but Stade Rennais have no interest in selling the forward for the time being.

Roma 'monitoring' Krstovic

Roma are reportedly monitoring Nikola Krstovic as the Leece star continues to be linked with a move to Leeds United.

According to Calciomercato.com, Roma are eyeing several forward targets and one of them is Krstovic.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Elland Road and it was recently claimed that Leece have let Leeds know that they want a fee in the region of €35m to part ways with the centre forward this summer.

Leeds United handed Premier League gift

Leeds United's fixtures for the new Premier League season were met with a great deal of excitement yesterday, more so for the fact it served to underline the Whites are back in the big time and face an exciting campaign against some of Europe's very best teams.

Some approach the fixture list with a pragmatic approach of, 'you have to play everyone twice, it doesn't matter' when looking down the list of who Leeds play and when. While that is true, it so often does matter how the fixtures shape up with the opportunity to get points on the board early so important, while a run against two or three Champions League-chasing or even title-chasing clubs could possibly put a dent in any momentum.

With that in mind we asked supporters to consider the fixture list and to let us know if their hopes or expectations for the season have changed based on the way the games have fallen.

Farke and Bamford conversations

Following Leeds United's opening summer signing of Lukas Nmecha, Patrick Bamford's future at Elland Road remains uncertain.

The English striker has been linked with an exit from the club ahead of Leeds' Premier League return. He started zero games in their title-winning Championship campaign and will surely be talking to Daniel Farke about where he stands.

Graeme Bailey told Leeds United News what he thinks those conversations will be about: "I think it depends. They will be having these types of conversations now. Especially with Bamford, they will be telling him he will be fourth-choice next season and then it is up to him if he wants to stay."

Daniel Farke could unlock Buendia's full potential

If Leeds manage to land Emi Buendia this summer - with Aston Villa reportedly looking for around £20 million - it could be a move that reignites the Argentine’s career.

Buendia thrived under Daniel Farke during their time at Norwich City, winning the EFL Championship Player of the Season award. The German manager clearly knows how to get the best out of him.

Now, after a stint with a resurgent Villa side and recent experience competing at the top level with Bayer Leverkusen, Buendia could bring both quality and maturity to Elland Road.

It’s a reunion that makes a lot of sense - and one that could be a game-changer for Leeds.

Leeds make contact for Aston Villa target

Leeds United have reportedly opened negotiations with Aston Villa over a deal for Spanish left-back Alex Moreno, according to Football Insider sources.

The 32-year-old has been told he’s free to leave Villa Park this summer, and Leeds are keen to bring in Premier League experience as they prepare for life back in the top flight.

Moreno is one of two Villa players on Leeds’ radar - alongside Emi Buendia - and talks are said to be progressing as Daniel Farke looks to strengthen ahead of the new season.

Leeds could secure £45m double deal

Leeds United are planning to strengthen their midfield with two arrivals in a £45 million double swoop, it has been claimed.

Daniel Farke is keen to bolster his squad ahead of their opening Premier League fixture against Everton on Monday, August 18. The Whites travel to Arsenal and host Newcastle United before the September international break.

Before the start of the season, there is work to be done in the summer transfer window. So far, the Whites have made one first-team addition in the form of Lukas Nmecha, who arrived on a free transfer from Wolfsburg...

Leeds and Bournemouth set for Samake race

Leeds United are battling several European clubs - including Premier League side Bournemouth - to sign 21-year-old winger Wilson Samake.

According to Foot Sur 7, newly promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC are currently leading the race for the Stade Rennais player, with Leeds and Bournemouth both showing strong interest from England.

The Whites have reportedly tabled a bid of around £850,000, though it's unclear whether Rennais are willing to part ways with the Malian prospect this summer.

Rodrigo Muniz latest

Fulham are reportedly considering a move for PSV striker Ricardo Pepi - a decision that could influence Rodrigo Muniz’s future amid strong interest from Leeds United.

Leeds recently had a £32m bid for Muniz rejected, according to The Athletic, but the situation may shift if Fulham push ahead with plans to bolster their frontline. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Pepi is on Fulham’s shortlist of striker targets.

Should Marco Silva land the 22-year-old American, he would be left managing a three-striker rotation - something that may prompt the club to cash in on Muniz to balance the squad.

Nmecha signing hints at future striker deal

“I’m excited to really put my foot down and show what I can do,” said Lukas Nmecha in his first interview as a Leeds United player.

The 26-year-old played twice in the Premier League for Manchester City before his move to Wolfsburg in 2021. Now back on British shores, Nmecha will be hoping to show he deserves a place in the English top flight.

It is no secret that the attacker has an extensive injury record and he will likely be managed carefully as a result, but he does offer Champions League experience as well as seven caps for Germany...

Leeds eyeing up Premier League champion

Leeds United are reportedly eyeing a move for Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez as they look to add top-flight experience to their back line.

The 28-year-old made just 17 appearances for the Premier League champions last season after injury struggles sidelined him for over 100 days. Now close to full fitness, The Guardian reports that Leeds have shown serious interest in bringing Gomez to Elland Road.

Valued at around £30 million, the England international would offer nearly a decade of Premier League experience - a valuable asset for Daniel Farke’s newly promoted side.

Leeds transfer decision 'will become clear'

Leeds United are reportedly considering a move for 19-year-old winger Semih Kilicsoy as Daniel Farke looks to strengthen his attacking options this summer.

The Besiktas starlet enjoyed a breakout season, making 46 appearances and playing a key role in helping the Turkish club secure European football. Kilicsoy has been working under former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during his stint at the club.

Turkish outlet A Spor has reported: “Whether Leeds United will make an official offer for Semih Kilicsoy will become clear in the coming days.”

Onyedika interest

Leeds United have expressed an interest in signing Club Brugge's Raphael Onyedika, according to reports.

Nigerian midfielder Onyedika has received interest from several clubs, including Tottenham, West Ham and AC Milan.

A fee in the region of £30million is expected to be enough to convince Club Brugge to sell Onyedika, 24.

Leeds want Golic

Leeds United are being linked with a move for rising teenage star Lovro Golic, with the club said to be keen to get a deal done.

Daniel Farke is about to see his defensive options swelled by the arrival of Udinese centre-back Jaka Bijol, who underwent a medical at the club yesterday and is expected to be confirmed imminently as the second signing of the season following the signing of Lukas Nmecha.

While his centre back options will be addressed by Bijol's capture, Leeds are being tipped to add another defender in 19-year-old Slovenian Golic.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano says the defender has made a decision to leave AS Roma on a free transfer this summer, with Leeds, Lecce and Hoffenheim reported as the clubs keen on landing the teenager.

Vanat twist

Dynamo Kyiv forward Vladyslav Vanat, who has been linked with a move to Leeds United, is expected to leave the Ukranian club during the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Alongside Leeds, several other Premier League clubs have shown an interest in him. Dynamo Kyiv planned to sell Vanat, 23, for £17m, but they now won't cash in for less than £21.4m.

Vanat scored 21 goals and provided nine assists in 45 matches for Dynamo Kiev during the 2024/25 season.

Double midfield signing

Leeds United are planning to strengthen their squad with TWO midfield arrivals.

According to Caught Offside, Leeds are expected to reignite their interest in signing long-term target Emiliano Buendia, who has been told he doesn't have a future at Aston Villa.

Unai Emery's side are expected to let him leave the club for £20million, with Buendia seen as an upgrade to Brenden Aaronson at Elland Road.

Elsewhere, Leeds are on the trail for Strasbourg ace Habib Diarra. While the Whites have seen one offer worth £21m rejected by the Ligue 1 side, the club's president revealed that he made a promise for him to leave, suggesting a move can be done.

Samake offer

Leeds United are 'in the mix' to sign Stade Rennais' Wilson Samake this summer, according to Africa Foot.

The 21-year-old hasn't made his first-team debut for the club but enjoyed a loan spell at LB Chateauroux during the 2024/25 season.

Samake was part of the Mali squad at last month's Toulon tournament in France and his performances have caught several clubs' attention, including Leeds.

The Whites have followed Samake's progress and are preparing a bid in the region of £850,000.

Muniz bid

Fulham have rejected a stunning £26million plus £6m add-ons bid from Leeds United for Rodrigo Muniz, according to reports.

Daniel Farke's side want a new centre forward and made an offer for Muniz, but the Cottagers turned down the proposal and see him as one of the club's most valuable assets.

Muniz, 24, scored 11 goals in 36 appearances for Fulham last season, having hit double figures for the first time in career during the 2023/24 campaign.

Krstovic transfer

Leeds United have identified Lecce's Nikola Krstovic as a target to strengthen their attack.

According to Sky Italia, Leeds have made an 'approach' to sign the 25-year-old, who scored 12 times in 38 appearances in Serie A during the 2024/25 season.

It's added that Leeds' offer is 'important' and the fee is close to Lecce's £29.9million plus bonuses asking price. If Lecce were to sell the frontman, they plan to replace him with Basel's Kevin Carlos.

Sterling move

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness has claimed that the three promoted teams, including Leeds United, could be the only options for Chelsea outcast Raheem Sterling this summer.

He told Football Insider's Inside Track podcast: "I think it's going to be a big problem to move him on.

"I think you're really going to be restricted, in my opinion, to the three clubs coming up – Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland. I think that's where he might find a space.

"But again, the wages are going to have to be really heavily subsidised to get him any move at all. But I think it's going to come to the point that that will be the case.

"It's going to be a difficult move and I don't know how long he's got left on his contract yet, but still it's going have to be Chelsea subsidising those heavily to get him out there.

"Chelsea will need any contribution towards his wages they can get and they might as well take it because he's not going to be contributing to Maresca in that squad.

"I don't think he's worth having on the bench as far as Maresca is concerned."

Luiz interest

Leeds United are 'in the picture' to bring Douglas Luiz back to the Premier League after a miserable season at Juventus, according to Tuttosport.

The Brazilian, 27, who joined the Serie A club from Aston Villa for £42.7million last summer, started just THREE league matches for Juve in 2024/25 and is behind ex-Leeds loanee Weston McKennie in the pecking order.

Luiz came on at half-time during their 5-0 win against Al Ain at the Club World Cup on Wednesday but is deemed surplus to requirements and is expected to be sold this summer.

It's added that Luiz is on Leeds' transfer list and Juventus want £34m to sanction his departure, representing a small loss on the amount they paid 12 months ago.

However, Leeds aren't anticipated to be keen at those figures and Juve could instead offer a loan with an obligation to buy for £25.6m next summer.
