Emiliano Buendia has taken to social media to share a three-word message amid links to Leeds United.

The Aston Villa playmaker has been linked with a move to Elland Road this summer, amid uncertainty around his future at Villa Park. The Argentina international spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, where he played 14 matches and scored two goals.

Leeds could sign a new No.10 this window, along with at least five key players, before the September 1 deadline. Given his Norwich City connection with Daniel Farke, where he played 121 games under the German, Buendia has often been linked with a reunion - this time at Elland Road.

Currently on holiday, Buendia has been maintaining his fitness as he awaits a development on his future.

He's expected to leave Villa, with Leverkusen opting not to make his £17million move permanent.

Taking to Instagram, the 28-year-old shared a photo of himself training, accompanied by the three-word caption: "Interval training done."

The 28-year-old, who played 121 games under Farke and was a key player in his formation at Norwich. Buendia has remained an admirer of his former coaching - previously telling Talk Norwich City: "He's one of the most important coaches in my career.

"He gave me the chance to join [Norwich]. And then, the most important thing as a player, he gave me confidence to be myself. To enjoy, feel free on the pitch.

"He was really good in terms of having a good connection with me and saying the things I needed to hear in every moment, in the good ones and also in the not good ones. He is special for me."

Buendia, who has two years remaining on his Villa contract, has been tipped for a switch away from Villa Park this summer. However, Leeds Live understands that there have been no indications that Leeds have made an approach.

Farke himself also sung the praises of Buendia, back in January, when Villa head coach Unai Emery indicated that the playmaker was available for a loan.

"I never comment about players under contract for other teams as I wouldn't expect another manager to make a comment about my players," Farke said.

"I've also read the comments because I'm interested in football and also the Premier League.

"Obviously I've worked with Buendia in former years, he was one of my best players, I really rate him - but I don't comment on the situation of a player now playing for a different side."
