Following the conclusion of the 2024/25 Barclays Women's Championship season, we can confirm four players who joined the club on loan will now return to their parent clubs as we thank them for their contributions throughout the campaign.
Alyssa Aherne joined United on loan last summer, while Connie Scofield, Maddy Earl and Ellie Jones all joined in January ahead of the second half of the season.
Aherne initially joined from Manchester United on deadline day last September, but an injury meant she didn't make her Blades debut until January, scoring after coming on as a substitute against Crystal Palace in the Adobe Women's FA Cup.
Aherne went onto make 8 appearances for the club and helped set up the equaliser in the team's final home game of the season against Southampton.
Jones joined at the beginning of January from Everton alongside teammate Issy Hobson, the latter recalled by the Toffees before the end of the season.
The teenager made 5 appearances for United, starting her first senior game for the Blades away at London City Lionesses.
Earl was another January acquisition, joining on loan from Barclays Women's Super League side Arsenal, making her debut as a second half substitute away at Charlton Athletic.
After spending the first half of the season at Bristol City, Earl went onto make 5 appearances for United.
Midfielder Scofield joined on deadline day in January from London City Lionesses, immediately going into the Blades starting line-up and becoming a regular starter during her time at the club, bar one match where she was ineligible to face her parent club.
The Northern Ireland international made 7 appearances throughout her stay at Bramall Lane.
Everyone at Sheffield United would like to thank Alyssa, Ellie, Maddy and Connie for their efforts during their respective periods at the club and wish them all the best for the next chapters of their careers.
