Speaking ahead of Saturday's Championship play-off final against Sunderland, Chris Wilder says he will be 'honoured and privileged' to walk his side out at Wembley Stadium but insists he will do so with only one goal.
The boss remarked: "It is a fantastic opportunity, and great opportunities give you the chance to make great memories. What is attached to the game for the football club from a financial perspective of course is talked about heavily, but for me it is the opportunity to get back to the Premier League with our football club and for the players to test themselves against the best in the world.
"It will be a proud moment for anybody in my position, especially with my history and connection to the football club. To walk out at Wembley Stadium in front of over 80,000 supporters, for one of the biggest games in world football as people talk about will be a great honour and privilege that comes with responsibility because I've got to do my job right first and foremost, we are going there to win."
With one final hurdle to overcome in the capital, Wilder added: "The narrative from people locally and perhaps national about our play-off record is negative, but that hasn't touched us one bit, not a single ounce of that has gone into my thinking. The players are ultra positive; they are focused and excited as well about going to Wembley and getting the win we are all after.
"It is not a place for losers. I watched the cup final, and you saw the contrast between arguably one of the best teams in the country over the past ten years against an outsider and the joy and elation it brought Crystal Palace compared to the disappointment of Manchester City who have won everything there is to be won in domestic and European football.
"A lot of people talk about it being the best way to go up, but I've been consistent throughout, I'd have rather gone up automatically, but we've been given this opportunity and so far we've taken it and we have the final opportunity on Saturday afternoon.
"I've not had to manage them at all. We had two great performances in the semi-final and a memorable night at Bramall Lane and when I look back, the noise and energy the supporters gave us was incredible, one of the best night's I've witnessed as anything at Bramall Lane. There is a load a energy around the club at the moment and we have to use that at the weekend.
"We have to get the preparation and detail right, that is important. Everyone wants to win, some want to win more than others, but it is about how you prepare for these situations. We've got everybody available which is fantastic news, I'm not surprised everyone is putting there hand up to play."
