1. Information Collection and Use
You can create an account with Storyfa. When you register with us and/or use the Services, you generally provide (a) your name, email address, age, user name, password and other personal information; (b) information you provide us when you contact us; (c) information about your favorite news channels, feeds, portals, topics, categories, interests that you add to your account and many other bits of information that result from your use of the Services (collectively “User Provided Information”).
Storyfa allows you to sign up and sign in using your a third party account (i.e. your Google or Facebook account). If you sign in using a third party account, it will ask your permission to share certain information from your third party account with Storyfa. This will include your name, email address, gender, general location, date of birth and other personal information (collectively “User Provided Information”).
We may collect certain information automatically (“Automatically Collected Information”), including, but not limited to, the type of device you use, your devices unique device ID, your IP address, your operating system, time and date of your request, the type of Internet browsers you use, browser language, user specific advertising IDs for advertisement tracking and information about the way you use the Services.
We may use User Provided and Automatically Collected Information, individually or in the aggregate, for technical administration of our Services; research and development; customer and account administration; to provide and improve our Services; to personalize your experience and to help us focus our marketing efforts more precisely.
We may also use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices and marketing promotions.
2. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.
We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
- when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- to advertisers and third party advertising networks and analytics companies as described in section Data Collection and Advertising below;
We may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, user information is typically one of the transferred business assets. Moreover, if we, or substantially all of our assets, were acquired, or if we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of us or our assets may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.
In addition to the scenarios identified above, we may also share information about you with other third parties if we have your consent and/or request to do so. For example, you can choose to share your favorite news feed, topics, portals and other personal information to Facebook, Twitter or other third party services.
3. Data Collection and Advertising
We may work with analytics companies (e.g., Google Analytics) to help us understand how the Services is being used, such as the frequency and duration of usage. We work with advertisers and third party advertising networks, who need to know how you interact with advertising provided in the Services. Advertisers and advertising networks use some of the information collected by the Services, such as the unique identification ID of your device. These third parties may also obtain anonymous information about other applications you’ve downloaded to your mobile device, the websites you visit, your non-precise location information (e.g., your zip code), and other non-precise location information in order to help analyze and serve anonymous targeted advertising on the Services and elsewhere. We may also share encrypted versions of information you have provided in order to enable our partners to append other available information about you for analysis or advertising related use. We may also share non-identifying information and aggregated information with third parties for industry analysis, research, demographic profiling and other purposes.
5. External data storage sites
We may store your data on servers provided by third party hosting vendors with whom we have contracted. Some or all of your data may be stored outside of your country or state.
6. Children's Privacy
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org . We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.
The security of your personal information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.
8. Data Retention
If you’d like us to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Services, please contact us at email@example.com and we will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of the User Provided Data may be required in order for the Services to function properly.
