Wales' NHS Committee which approved the closure of Welshpool's Air Ambulance base said it understands the decision will be "disappointing" for some people.
The decision to close Welshpool and Caernarfon bases and develop a new base in North Wales has been taken even though the location of the new base is officially unknown and the bespoke rapid response vehicle service – does not exist yet.
Welshpool’s Air Ambulance base will close after 2026, following a final vote today which has confirmed the decision. Local politicians have said the proposals should now be called in for Welsh Government Ministers to decide.
