Some parts of the UK could reach heatwave territory

A mini heatwave is set to sweep across parts of the country, sending temperatures soaring to a scorching 30C from Friday.

A yellow heat alert has been issued for parts of England as temperatures are forecast to hit 30C on Friday.

Stephen Dixon, Met Office spokesperson, tells Sky News there is a "chance of some drier and more settled interludes of weather through next week".
