Last week I was pleased to host the Port of London (PLA) in Parliament to launch the Clean Thames Action Plan. We are so lucky to have the River Thames on our doorstep and it is thanks to the PLA that we can enjoy it.
Londoners in Richmond-upon-Thames were startled to spot a group of dolphins playing in the River Thames on Saturday - despite fears the water has become dangerously polluted
When the dolphins were seen bobbing along the river's surface at Richmond Lock and Footbridge, onlookers called the fire brigade fearing the mammals were trapped.
The company also suggested taking shorter showers and watering plants less often. The string of advice comes amid a row over Thames Water's leaking of raw sewage into British rivers.
